A type face visually represeting Urban decay on buildings. I have tried to capture the image of the deconstruction of concrete.
First there is a flourish, in which the beauty of progression is materialised through growth. Followed by distortion and an imminent spoil - I was inspired by this cyclic process.
Angles cant quite define this typeface, so 'Spoiler' as a decorative font chooses to ignore certain standardisation rules; each letter tries to recoil back into what came before.
The lettering, as I discovered through paper manipulation and layering, works organically off screen, for collage and mixed media poster design.
Based on the theme of malnutrition, this font uses chicken bones to structure its letter forms. The chicken bones represent the cycle of malnutrition that continues today in the fast food industry – how we mistreat and abuse chickens that we then eat, consequently malnourishing ourselves in the process. The font is based on a stencil font, which chicken bones where placed on top of, photographed, drawn and translated onto Font Struct to create the final product. The font is not designed as body text but is designed to be used for means that need a more impacting, visually striking and eye catching font. This is a clone
Working with the theme 'destructive', I have investigated how eating unhealthy food can cause plaque build up and lead to tooth decay. The detail and shading on the letters represent the erosion of a tooth when it starts to decay. The font would be used for more decrative purposes but could also be used in add campaigns that warn the genral public of tooth decay. Due to the font being eroded its self it would reflect the information in the add and could even go as far as sublininally sending a message to the veiwer a warning that their teeth could end up looing like this font.
