I designed Twirl in Typography I at SIUC with inspiration from my own handwriting and my love of script fonts. My goal was to make an elegant functional bitmap font.

Cool curly font people, but it might be a bit weird and girly. If you think it's awesome, then download and comment on my work!

I saw an "M" like that somewhere, and I decided to make a whole font around it. Lowercase letters and more punctuation to come. I used the "o" from C eed by zen_killa as my base. Alt "A" on @. An improved version is coming soon, thanks to FS 2.0

The idea for the font came from looking at the curves in Wind ornaments. The block like structure of the wood and then the spiral effect. I also looked at Wooden table arrangments that resembled wood shavings, like ribbon curls. I wanted a contiuous theme to run through and link all the glyphs together. So i used the ribbon like structure as the backbone to all the uppercase and then serifs to link the Glyffs to each other. There is also a suggestion of movement in the style, as it is italic. I kept the decorative theme as well, to stay true to the concept behind the idea. This is a display font with a limited and definate purpose.
