This fontrusction was created for the theme 'community'. Titled, 'Social Bubble' I aimed to represent how Covid-19 has affected our social lives. The reason for the different styles for each letter is to express how everyone's situation is different, however I did keep some consistency for aesthetic purposes. The bitmap style also represents how social interaction has become more digital due to people not being able to see each other face to face.
This is my first FontStruction while currently studying graphic design at Bristol UWE. This font was born from the theme of ‘hope’ and that we are hopefull for the future. I looked at lots of different material for insperation, inculding film posters, furteristic clothing and computer games.

I looked at lots of different material for insperation, inculding film posters, furteristic clothing and computer games. I developed the high contrast version after the standard weight, after being inspired by a font called ‘Noe Display’.
The idea behind this display font is to create something wide, modern and with light hint of space exploration
Font heavily inspired by the 80'd arcade games with an elegant, semi-serif style.
Something simplistic I quickly threw together.
A hexagonal font for basic latin and some punctuation.
This font was created around the theme of 'elegant'. I chose to focus on the elegance of flowing fabric and drapery, so designed these letters inspired by classical depictions of fabric in paintings and marble sculptures. This is a clone of DRAPERY
Cybersquare was designed to be a display font. The flat serifs and square counters give the essence of something old that is merging with new technologies. The name Cybersquare comes from the influence of Courier in code and the square nature of the letterforms. It is a typeface created using old ideas to look into the possible future. Cybersquare is meant to be used large on products such as posters and book covers.
I based this typeface off the theme of introversion, and so went about creating a font that worked from the idea of the unseen, less obvious shadows of the letterforms, using arrows and angles to continue the theme of what is internal and not what the eye sees immediately.
This a typeface designed to echo the shapes and patterns found across manholes which cover our network of systems across the UK. Manhole covers have been beautifully decorated with patterns but also act as indicators and safety features. Both patterns and the shaping of letterforms are inspired by manhole covers I have found. Designed to be a display typeface at large scales!
Oh look I made another one!
This one's inspired by the Hyperdimension Neptunia series: A recreation of the blocky font used in the game.
It's not a perfect recreation, but it's close enough to the font in HDN
A 3D hexagonal display font inspired by Organic Chemistry. Geometric, energetic, and one-of-a-kind; recommended for use at larger sizes with generous leading, not for body copy.
