A reconstruction of some of the original GUI elements found on FontStruct, as a FontStruction on FS! :) The design elements are (c) FontStruct/Rob Meek/FSI FontShop International (excluding MS-style cursors). This is meant as JUST a fanart and is not meant to infringe on the authors' rights. --- This font is meant to be viewed and used at PXL sizes (12 px and multiples). --- This pictographic font is a WIP (work in progress). Any suggestions are welcome! --- Changelog: *20 September 2010 — Added new glyphs (FS GUI elements/artifacts + some cursors & GUI widgets, like radio buttons). Notable additions include the FS web browser favicon (in 2 versions!) and the social networking icons found under the "Tell the world" dropdown option. Also changed the picture-to-letter mapping, this requires further improvements, though. *27 September 2010 — 11 new GUI image elements/artifacts were added after suggestions by other FontStructors: 1. The clone icon (Dolly the clone sheep) 2-4. "Add fave", "My fave" and broken-hearted "Drop fave" versions of the heart icon that can be used to keep track of your favorite FontStructions 5-6. Two (2) versions of the current FontShop favicon (faux anti-aliased and B&W contrasted) 7. A rectangular FontStruct mini-banner that appears when embedding a FontStruction into an external website 8. "FontStruct is brought to you by" text from the same embeddings 9. Small negative/inverted upwards arrow (I always seemed to forgot to add that one up until now) 10. The e-mail icon from FontStructor userpages, and 11. The pixel rating ‘voted’ tick mark. *[next version] P.S. Any suggestions, comments and ideas are again appreciated, welcome & even encouraged! :D

Wow! Real nice!

Very nice, and a interesting idea.

Now I can make all of my fonts "Top Picks"!
Comment by Goatmeal 20th September 2010
The meta on display here puts a smile on my face. To complete the artifact colletion, you must dig up and dust off at least one of the classic gui elements no longer kicking about these parts. I refer to none other than the original ‘pink dot of distinction’ which used to adorn top picks. It looked thisaway. ;-)
Comment by William Leverette (will.i.ૐ) 20th September 2010
This is great! I'm honoured to be your m. The top pick stars are tricky as pixel graphics.
Comment by Rob Meek (meek) 20th September 2010
Wow, I haven't received so many comments before! Thanks a lot for the kind words, everyone!

@will.i.ૐ: The "pink dot" badge version of the "Top pick" recognition that FS staff members gave to FontStructions before the redesign towards the current "Top pick" badge is now added. I forgot to add that GUI artifact/widget because the shift to the new version of that graphic went a bit unnoticed on my side (shame on me!). :)

P.S. If anyone finds more GUI artifacts that I've omitted, do let me now. Adding pixel art glyphs is quite easy, even though it takes some time.

Also, since I placed the elements randomly on the Basic Latin glyph table, I also accept suggestions on how to better map the graphics to particular glyphs (letters, numbers, symbols, etc). Excluding the "m", of course, that was an intentional homage to Mr. Meek here and his wonderful work - FS!

Ah, I’ve excavated some other artifacts for your collection. First, the tiny icon that identifies cloned fontstructions in the gallery. Mysteriously, it seems to represent a sheep face/skull. ;)

I’ll leave it to you to track it down.

While you are at it, I think “ADD FAVE”, “MY FAVE”, and even the broken-hearted “DROP FAVE” versions of the heart icon are worthy additions. Maybe, the ‘voted’ tick mark, too...

@Will: The clone icon was a probably a reference to a sheep known as "Dolly". She became famous as the first large mammal to be cloned successfully. :)
Comment by fontcollector 22nd September 2010
Good point, fc. I completely spaced Dolly.

Thought at least I got the species right. It was a much better guess than my first, which was along the lines of Kuato from Total Recall with a barbell jammed through his head. But then that would be more ‘mutant’ and less ‘clone’.
Comment by William Leverette (will.i.ૐ) 22nd September 2010
Yeah, I knew that the clone icon refers to Dolly the Clone Sheep. ;)

Guys, I've updated it once again after your brilliant suggestions. See the changelog for details.
